A Volvo bus belonging to TSRTC caught fire on Tuesday afternoon at Aler in Nalgonda district.

Passengers of the bus observed smoke emanating from the rear end of the bus, while it was on its way from Hyderabad to Warangal. They immediately alerted the bus driver who stopped on the roadside and evacuated the passengers to safety. No casualties were reported.

However, there was no sign of a fire tender or police patrol near the burning bus. A single constable arrived after more than 30 minutes of the incident. The resultant delay gutted the bus beyond repair.
